Institute for Ministry and Theological Education

Welcome to The Institute...

Our Mission is to support the people of the Church in faithful and effective ministry to their communities and congregations through a diocesan-wide center for ministry training, theological education, information and connection. Through the Institute for Ministry & Theological Education, the Diocese of Atlanta is committed to providing life-long adult Christian education by providing learning experiences that address a variety of  learning styles in educational opportunities that include, but are not limited to:

Biblical Studies, Church History, Church Music and Liturgical Arts, Environmental Stewardship, Episcopal Social Action on behalf of oppressed groups in society,  Episcopal/Anglican Polity, Ethics, Evangelism, Inter-Faith Dialogue, Pastoral Care, Planned Giving and Stewardship, Spiritual Growth, and Theology.

On-Going Projects:

1.  One-day and multi-session educational formats initially in the Atlanta metropolitan region and expanded to convocation-level offerings in the future
2.  A listing of available speakers (Speakers' Bureau) on topics of interest
3.  A data base of educational opportunities accessible on the Diocesan Web Site
4.  Assist and encourage local parishes to develop Adult Christian Education Programs
5.  Long Term Projects involve course certifications, Institute leadership and administrative support.

All programs will be developed by the Diocese of Atlanta Commission on Education in conjunction with Bishop Alexander, Deans, Clergy and Laity of the Diocese.
